His determined efforts were evident through the establishment of the Kelowna Heat non-profit spring hockey program, which continues to thrive today, providing aspiring athletes with access to the sport they love.

Having also played instrumental roles within the Kelowna Rockets organization and the Okanagan Hockey Group in Penticton and Kelowna, Mike’s unwavering support for local hockey knew was an inspiration. He championed the importance of discipline and order, ensuring that participants received the best possible hockey experience, occasionally crossing boundaries to assist, and make a difference. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, the Okanagan Hockey Community Foundation is pleased to provide this scholarship opportunity in his memory.
